In 2008, the North County Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Coalition was formed, planting the seed of what would become the North County LGBTQ Resource Center. The Resource Center opened in Oceanside, CA on December 8, 2011. Ever since it's opening, The NC Center has created services and programs that serves thousands of LGBTQI+ people in North San Diego County. Pride by the Beach is a program of the North County LGBTQ Resource Center.

Our Mission is to serve, empower and advocate for North County's diverse LGBTQI community.

Our Vision is a community where everyone lives in equality, feeling accepted, valued, safe and free from social stigma.  Pride by the Beach plays an active role in the Mission and Vision of the North County LGBTQ Resource Center.

Terminology and Flags

CURRENT CORRECT LOGO - as of 2-6-19_clip

Sexual, romantic, and gender identities are very personal and often change from person to person.  The information below is simply a general guide to some popular LGBT community terms.  When dealing with these terms it is important to remember that gender identity, romantic attraction, and sexuality are independent of each other.  Some of these terms can be used in a derogatory way and care should be used when speaking with someone about their gender identity, sexuality, or romantic attraction.  It is always a good idea to ask the person which terms they prefer.
